Week 5: Mark Making

This week, we had to make 8 abstract pieces using ink and household materials. Two of my initial ideas (the whisk and can tab) did not work well, so I used two q-tips instead. This was really fun to do and I am looking forward to finishing the large assignment.

Week 3: Objective and Subjective Lines

This week we were required to draw our still life portrait using objective and subjective lines. The time constraint on both proved somewhat difficult for me because I wanted to add more detail, and it was also somewhat difficult since I didn’t really have a good stand to prop my board up with so the lines were difficult to make straight at the bottom of the picture. Overall, I had a fun time just putting on some music and drawing this in the evening.

Week 2: Still Life as Self Portrait

For my first project, I choose 5 items that mean something to me. I chose my old computer graphics card because it was one of the cards I used for many years throughout high school until recently to play quite a few games with my friends throughout the years. I chose my nintendo switch because it is pretty much what kept me from losing my mind during quarantine. I chose a candle because I have… way too many candles and smells are extremely important to me. I chose one of my virtual reality camera sensors because it is what helps me stay in contact with a few friends of mine who are far away. Lastly, I chose a whiskey glass from a set that I was gifted because I enjoy a nice glass of whiskey after all of my strenuous zoom calls throughout the day.
