- In 2015, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) awarded Wexner Medical Center with a competitive grant for nearly $4 million to implement the Institute for the Development of Environments Aligned for Patient Safety (IDEA4PS) over four years.
- Susan Moffatt-Bruce, MD, PhD, MBA, previously Executive Director of University Hospital at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, served as Principal Investigator; Ann McAlearney, ScD, MS and Tim Huerta, PhD, MS served as program directors; and Alice Gaughan, MS served and research manager.
- IDEA4PS aimed to use systems approaches to bring together multidisciplinary teams to generate new ways of looking at information and data in order to improve patient safety.
- Twenty-three investigators from the medical center and beyond were involved in the work of the grant, proving how the university truly worked together for patient safety.
