Big assignment 2 Check in 1

The perspective of the directly above photo is from above and to the left of my table top. I am using the elements of over lap and object size (bigger is closer) in isometric perspective.
The Photo on top in landscape is now from the right hand corner of the same table, so moving from left to right, to the right corner of my living room. I used  linear perspective for this. Still deciding whether to add the bricks all the way up since it starts to get a little wonky.

  1. Nice progress Isabella! I think these different views and angles will make for an interesting drawing. The composition you are creating with the tabletop view is quite dynamic as well. Because of this, I am sure that portion will have some varying paths for our eyes to wander within it, keeping the viewer interested.

I think it is interesting how you will also be playing with different scales when you connect these drawings. The table is very close to us and the interior space has more distance / depth within it.

I think it will be great if you add the bricks all the way up the side of the wall… or maybe the bricks transform into something else? You could also use frottage to get a brick like texture that you incorporate into your drawing. You still need to draw an exterior space, so another path is to have the bricks transform or merge into an exterior space (trees, a jungle, a wall of ivy?). Leaving that space flexible and open also help with how you make a transition to your third drawing if that’s an area where you imagine two pages connecting.

Also, I would consider how this drawing is really also an opportunity to tell a story or show a very specific environment. I see a study scene but also personal space. Maybe there is a tension between the separation between the reality of domestic space, the pressure of academic space, and also an abstract dream/ imaginative space — this weird blur between all of these things is something we really feel right now during the pandemic when we are mostly stuck in one space all the time. Drawing that tension between three panels could be a really powerful and interesting depiction of our current moment! I can really see you elaborate on the details in this drawing to tell a story like this in your work.
