HSPB Halloween Bash with Best Buddies (1 point)

Are you excited to celebrate Halloween? Are you ready to wear your best costume and make some fun Halloween crafts with some new friends? Then come to HSPB’s Halloween Bash with Best Buddies! Best Buddies is a student organization that works to link OSU students with students with a range of intellectual and developmental disabilities to form the best friendships. At this event, you will get the chance to learn more about the Best Buddies organization and have a Halloween themed craft party with the members of the Best Buddies organization where you will make some Halloween capes together. Come join your fellow IA Scholars and floor mates from 8 & 9 on a trip to North Market on Saturday, November 12th. Established in 1876, the North Market is Columbus’ only remaining true public market. More than 30 merchants vend a wide variety of fresh, local, authentic food. Offerings include organic produce, grass-fed beef, pork, lamb and goat, pastured poultry, sustainably raised seafood, locally roasted coffee, baked goods, cheeses, flowers and other artisan food items. The Market also provides an international selection of freshly prepared foods, authentic ethnic specialties, distinctive gifts and personable service from its merchant owner operators.

Come see the Columbus Zoo Wildlights with the other Arts and Sciences Scholars Programs on Friday, November 18. Admission to the zoo is free if you bring along 5 canned food items to donate to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank. Meet at 4:00pm in the Smith-Steeb lobby to ride a CABS bus to the zoo. RSVP here. Anthropology Open House

The Department of Anthropology is holding an Open House for students interested in Anthropology or Anthropological Sciences as a major. Students can meet faculty, graduate students, and current undergraduate students. There will be opportunities to tour some of the laboratories. Refreshments (pizza and pop) will be served! OUAB Event: Breaking the Silence with Edward Snowden (2 points)

Snowden is a former National Security Agency contractor who leaked classified documents from the NSA in 2013 which revealed details surrounding a domestic surveillance program. As a result, he is facing three felony charges. He will be live-streaming to Ohio State’s campus on Nov. 30 from Russia, where he has been granted asylum. Tickets are available starting Oct 31 at 5pm at the Ohio Union Information Desk. You will need your BuckID to receive your ticket.
