A representative from the Peace Corp will be presenting about the opportunities through the Peace Corp and her own personal experience as a Peace Corp volunteer abroad. Terrorism Series – History of Terrorism (2 points with an additional 1)

This will be a two part series about the history or terrorism and ISIS. At this event, Dr. Lewis from International Studies will help us understand the history and rise of terrorism. Journal Club: Science, International Affairs, and More (2 points for attendance and active participation)

Looking for ways to use international affairs in other fields? Look no further!
On October 25th, IA will be hosting its monthly journal club; these discussions will incorporate both science and international affairs components. You will be sent one research article and 1-2 current event readings or short videos about a particular subject, which you are expected to read or watch before journal club. There will be a short presentation about the topic, followed by a discussion.
The second topic of the year will be Water in a Global Context: A Crisis and an Opportunity. RSVP required by Friday, October 21st at noon in order to receive the information that will be discussed. Please contact Alex Northrop (northrop.18@osu.edu) with questions.
A National Security Conversation with the Honorable Patrick Murphy, 32nd Under Secretarry of the Army (2 points)

The US Army’s obligation to the nation is to provide a ready, trained, manned, and equipped force to protect the homeland, fight terrorism, and upon call implement US National Security Policy. Building and sustaining an Army, globally dispersed and ready, requires innovation, partnership, and commitment to its force. Under Secretary of the Army, Patrick Murphy, will address how the Army is transforming its business practices, engaging in private-public partnerships, and taking care of its workforce, both active and veteran, in order to attract and develop leaders of character for a lifetime of service.
