A comparative social historian, Harvey Graff is recognized internationally for his research and teaching in literacy; cities; children, youth, and families; interdisciplinarity; and theory and method in the humanities and the social sciences. He joined OSU in 2004, and directs the Literacy Studies @ OSU initiative, a university-wide interdisciplinary program.

Stephanie has been with the Arts and Sciences Career Services Office since August 2005. Prior to joining the office, she was the Director of the Career Center at Wittenberg University and held a Career Counselor position with Ohio State’s Career Connection office from 1997-2000. She has a doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Southern Illinois University/Carbondale and has worked in Higher Education, holding positions in counseling, career services, human resources, and course instruction, since 1990. Her bachelor’s degree is in Psychology from The Ohio State University.

Erik Connelly, Graduate Student

Eric Connelly is a graduate student pursuing degrees in Slavic studies and public policy. He graduated with a B.A. in International Studies and Russian from The Ohio State University in 2014. He then served as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Tyumen, Russia for a year. Prior to starting his bachelor’s degree, he worked as an outdoor educator at several different locations in the U.S. where he worked with people from different countries.

 

 

 

Jessica Rutherford, Graduate Student

Jessica Rutherford is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. Her research examines the practices and practitioners of natural medicine and associated healing rituals described in sixteenth-century Jesuit writings from colonial Mexico and Brazil. Her work has been supported by two Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellowships for the study of Portuguese as well as a Howe Research Grant and a Tinker Field Research Grant with which she conducted archival research at the National Library in Brazil. She is currently a L.A.S.E.R. (Latino and Latin American Space for Enrichment and Research)/Humanities Institute graduate fellow and mentor.

 

Alexis Lilly, Undergraduate Student Alexis_Lilly

Alexis Lilly is currently a junior majoring in International Relations and Diplomacy and minoring in South Asian Studies as well as French. She has studied abroad twice, once with her scholar’s program, International Affairs Scholars, and most recently to Senegal as part of a 5-week immersion program. She has also held internships with the Community Refugee and Immigration Services, CMAA Refugee Center, as well as the Center for Latin American Studies in the Office of International Affairs here at Ohio State.
