Want to Plan The Big Dish 2020?
We are looking for 7 to 10 students that are interested in event planning and would like to gain hands on experience planning The Big Dish event. Roles will be assigned at the beginning of the semester, but we are looking for students who are flexible and willing to learn any role on our team. The Big Dish is a fundraising event and students will gain experience planning a fundraising event for a large organization. Mandatory weekly meetings: Wednesday’s 10:30 AM – 11:45 AM and Friday’s 10:40 AM – 12:55 AM. Applications are accepted September – December 1, 2019.
The main course objectives include:
- Have a thorough understanding of the various elements in planning an event
- Properly market and sell an event
- Properly execute an event and ensure details remain a priority
- Professionally present self in a business and network setting
- Develop a sense of priorities and accomplish goals given
- Exhibit a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and the ability to work both independently and in a team setting
- Learn self-accountability to accomplish desired results
- Assess his/her strengths and weaknesses and evaluate the performance related to the contracted duties and responsibilities
