Project Statement
My partner and I for this project wanted to create a conflict with sea creatures and use a unique 3D form to execute that. The outcome includes a designed board and a 3D crafted set of pieces in the forms of these sea creatures. My piece designation is King: Whale, Queen: Shark, Bishop: Squid, Knight: Seahorse, Rook: Swordfish, Pawns: Prawn. My materials included 3D PLA Filament and glue.

Reflection
This project was really challenging through a production perspective but was enjoyable in the final outcome. Formulating the ideas for our piece gave me some insight into parts of the process I hadn’t explored much beforehand, like creating a narrative conflict under a set of parameters like this. It was fun creating each piece and seeing it come to life in this set. There was a solid chunk of time in my production process that I was regretting choosing to 3D print my pieces but I overcame it and did enough final work on the pieces to get them how I wanted.
