My name is Jessica Hook, and I am a FisherDirect Honors student at The Ohio State University’s Max M. Fisher College of Business and a member of the Business Scholars program. Currently, I am pursuing a specialization in Marketing along with a minor in Communication Technology. I intend to graduate in May of 2020. I have a strong interest in brand marketing and product development. As an individual, I am always quick to learn other team members strengths and treat people with consistency. Taking on responsibility and arranging tasks comes easy to me! I am outspoken and always the first one to introduce myself to new people. The creative side of me loves drawing and painting, and I really aspire to incorporate that into my future career!
In high school I was thoroughly involved in clubs and organizations. I was the President of French Club, Secretary of NHS, Community Service Facilitator for Leadership Challenge, and an officer of Students Against Destructive Decisions. I was also an active member in National French Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, Key Club, and Newspaper Club. Throughout my first year at Ohio State, I have formed some fantastic new relationships with peers and faculty. I have enjoyed volunteering my time with Pay it Forward’s Community Commitment event and Site Leading for their MLK Day of Service. One of my favorite recent events was helping out with the Day in a Life of a Buckeye Program!
At OSU I look forward to participating in the STEP and Honors programs, and continuing to grow in the BSP community. I am currently training to be a manager at Connecting Grounds coffee shop on North campus, where you can find me on Sunday and Monday nights! I will be rushing Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity in the Fall of 2017, and will be joining American Marketing Association as well. Down the road, I intend to explore the possibilities of Cooperatives with businesses in the Columbus area and am interested in applying for the Honors Cohort program.
