Downloading and Installing the Home Healthcare Hazard Training Program

First, please read the following release statement:
In consideration for using these training materials, I hereby release from liability and waive my right to take any legal action against The Ohio State University, its employees, officers, volunteers, and agents, in regard to any and all claims arising from my use of this program and its content.
If you are willing to agree with the above statement, then the next thing you know is that the downloaded file is approximately 280 MB and the fully extracted VSTS is requires nearly a gigabyte of space on your computer’s hard drive. Depending on your internet connection speed, the files may take several minutes to download.

If that is not a problem, here’s how to download the training system:

1.   Click on the following link to access the program: VSTS onedrive folder

2.  The following screen appears.  Click the Download icon circled in red in the picture below.  The folder is 723 MB so this process may take several minutes.

3.  Once it’s downloaded, go to your downloads folder (or another location you may have specified) and you will see a “OneDrive” folder with the download date.

4.  Click on the downloaded folder then click Extract at the top of the screen, and then choose Extract All from the pop-up menu.

5.   You will need to tell your computer where you would like to put the program.   In the example below it was put on the  C drive.  After you specify the location, click the Extract button at the bottom of the window.

6.   After extraction you will see the folder on your computer in file explorer.   Double click on the VSTS Program folder to open the folder.

7. Now you can access the game by clicking the application file highlighted below.  If your right click on this file you have the option to set up a shortcut that you can then move to your desktop which will make it much easier to access the VSTS.  You may get a security warning like the one shown below.   If this happens, click “Run” and you will start the program.

When the program starts it should give you the screen below.  Enter three letters and a three numerical digits for an ID (i.e.  abc123).   This allows you to leave the program and come back in to where you left off.   Each new user should put in a unique ID.
