Group Concept Variations:
As a group we came up with eight different variations of previous ideas to begin thinking about what products we may think to prototype and design with materials and dimensions.
#1 Removable Pegs, Peg Board. This is a peg board that can help hold food and fruits in place while you cut and dice. This also has an adjustable clamp that can hold cans of food in place while you open the can.
#2: Clicking Pegs, Peg Board. This is a different variation of the peg board now with the pegs that can click in and out just like a clicking pen mechanism. That way there is no worrying about losing any of the pegs and makes it easier keeping everything in one piece.
#3: Multi-Side Cheese Grater. This is a cheese grater with four different sides that is suction cupped to the surface of the counters in your kitchen. That way the grater won’t move around while using the product.
#4: Flat Cheese Grater. This is a different variation of our cheese grater where it actually lays flat on the counter surface. That way there is no worry about the product sliding around and you can use gravity and forcing the cheese or food from above back and forth which is easier than moving food up and down.
#5: Adjustable Height Table. This is a concept we came up with for a product that will help moving heavy items of food from the oven onto your countertop. Since it is very difficult to grab a pot of food or turkey from the oven and lift it with only one hand, we thought a table that has a pneumatic pump that can adjust its height would help. You can roll it over the oven door, lower it to the proper height, slide the food on, raise the table, close the over door, roll the table over, and raise the height until you can slide the food easily and safely right off onto the counter.
#6: Hanging Neck Basket. This concept we came up with because we found making multiple trips from the pantry to grab food ingredients and items to use while cooking, to be irritating. With this product you can hold all of the food you need and there are little pockets for things like salt and pepper so they are always in reach and you can easily carry multiple items at once.
#7: Cheese Grater Swivels on the base for easy access to all sides. This eliminates the need to unstick it from the counter-top to use another side.
#8: Waist basket that hangs on the waist with a clip that is easy to squeeze with two fingers.
