Readings

Here you will find readings for each Global Fellowship Program session. Readings are typically sent out to participants 2 weeks before each session or as soon as they are provided to us by the guest speaker.

If you have any questions or have trouble accessing any of these resources, please email CSEEES’ outreach coordinator, Alicia Baca (baca.31@osu.edu).

Readings are listed chronologically by session.

  • Center for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies (CSEEES) Readings
  • Center for Latin American Studies (CLAS) Readings
  • Center for African Studies (CAS) Readings
  • East Asian Studies Center (EASC) Readings
  • Middle East Studies Center (MESC) Readings

Guiding Questions

As we go through the regional topic sessions, here are some questions to consider. These questions were initially brought up during orientation, but may be helpful to revisit them throughout the program.

  1. In what ways is teaching Indigenous history (from any region in the world) different than teaching other histories?
  2. How can we use what we learn this year to help our students think critically and empathetically about the histories of Indigenous people (either in the U.S. or abroad) and the issues they face today?
