We chose to do our commodity chain about apples because we believe apples are common in most people’s diets and thought it would be interesting to learn more about them. They are grown in China, Australia and many places across the United States, but we chose to focus on Australia as the supplier for this specific commodity chain. Although we chose Australia as the supplier, we are not focusing on the distribution in only Australia, but instead we are focusing on the distribution of anywhere that Australian apples are distributed to and we are focusing on the consumption portion in any area where a large portion of apples are consumed. There are many different kinds of apples and uses of apples, but we have chose to dive into the processes of a simple apple, rather than all of the foods that can be made using apples.
