College Closet

For the ICE Scholars Program, my team were given the challenge of thinking up an idea and coming up with ways to bring that idea to life. We decided to create the ‘College Closet’ or a service that would store students items that may not be able to fit in a dorm or a house. Our company would also be able to drop off or pickup a student’s items within a requested time frame. Working on this project taught us the necessary steps to take if we actually came up with our own idea and wanted to bring it to life.

Below is our business model canvas which is a chart that details most aspects of the idea.

Year in Review

With my first semester coming to an end, it’s time to reflect. The first two months of college were very difficult. I was struggling to stay on top of my classes and find my place at the university. Trying to learn the concepts of calculus 2, Russian, and the Java programming language was very difficult at the beginning. However, just about a month ago, I started to really find myself and understand what it means to be a Buckeye. I’ve matured a lot since I’ve been living on my own with three random roommates who I can now call my friends. I’ve learned how to sort important tasks from unimportant tasks. I’ve learned how to learn and study more efficiently. The most important thing I’ve learned this semester is how to be happy and vulnerable. I accept and enjoy the person I am. My goals for the future are to work hard and try to make each day the best I can.
