Global Awareness- Course work such as psychology and sociology has allowed to broaden my understanding of all cultures and individuals. A greater appreciation of our differences, as well as how these can be used beneficially has been gained. Enrollment in courses such as East Asian Art and History of Water has allowed me to learn more about other cultures and appreciate their unique stories.

Original Inquiry- Working in the Department of Pathology at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center allowed me to have my first experience working in a healthcare setting. While holding the position of a student assistant, I was able to learn about several aspects of hospital systems. This experience made me even more eager to have a career in the healthcare setting as I think this environment is very exciting.

Academic Enrichment- Challenging coursework has allowed me to take pride in the steps leading up to achieving my career goals. I have learned that hard work and dedication are extremely important factors in achieving academic success. While I have taken several science courses that are pertinent to my major I have also had the opportunity to take unrelated coursework such as a history of art course. I am grateful to have a wide variety of experiences during my academic career, as I believe it will allow me to be well-rounded individual and have some knowledge in several areas.

Leadership Development- By serving as an ambassador for my major, I have gained leadership skills and have been able to share my experience with others and provide them with advice. By speaking to prospective students and families, I have been able to improve skills such as communication. I am proud to represent Ohio State and the College of Pharmacy as I greatly respect both of these institutions.

Service Engagement- My volunteer work with Scientific Thinkers, a student organization that visits elementary schools to provide students with science lessons on a weekly basis has been one of my most rewarding service experiences yet. It has been fulfilling to pass on the things I have learned with the hopes of cultivating a love for the sciences in students. Engaging and forming connections with the students can have positive outcomes as it may inspire them to attend college and pursue their passions. I am glad that I can apply the knowledge I acquire in the classroom in a way that benefits others.
