Open Positions

Postdoctoral Fellow

Several positions are currently open for Postdoctoral level scientists attracted to biochemical, biophysical and single molecule imaging approaches to dissecting the mechanics of DNA repair and its role in human disease.  Preference will be given to new PhD or MD PhD graduates with Physics, Biophysics or Biochemistry training and interests and/or experience in single molecule imaging in vitro or in vivo.  Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.  Please send a cover letter with research experience and interests, curriculum vitae and three letters of reference to Richard Fishel, PhD (fishel.7@osu.edu).

Graduate Student

Highly motivated graduate students in the Biophysics, Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology or the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Programs are encouraged to seek laboratory rotation opportunities.  We are particularly interested in students that are attracted to training in the biochemical, biophysical and single molecule imaging approaches to dissecting the mechanics of DNA repair and its role in human disease.  Please contact Richard Fishel, PhD (fishel.7@osu.edu) to arrange a time to visit and discuss scientific interests.

Undergraduate Research

We are looking for Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biology, Biomedical Sciences and Pharmaceutical Sciences honors students or regular students with at least a 3.5 GPA interested in undergraduate research.  Preference will be given to second-semester Freshman, Sophomores and highly motivated Juniors.  Please direct inquires to our joint group lab manager Joao Viera da Rocha PhD.
