This lab activity consisted of creating concept screening and scoring tables along with assembling the AEV from the team’s design concepts from lab four. The lab manual had instructed the team to test run the AEV design and then complete the concept screening and scoring tables but instructional team members advised teams to do it the other way around.
In this lab, the team learned about the technique of design decision making by the concept screening score sheet. This helped the team choose the best AEV design without having to test each design individually.
The next lab is known as the “halfway” checkpoint between the introductory and background labs to the performance tests and design iterations. The primary objective of lab six will be taking the lab proficiency quiz to test the knowledge of all aspects of the AEV project including hardware, software, and engineering calculations.
Here are the team’s concept screening analysis and concept scoring analysis tables.
