McKenzie Kennelly’s AEV Design

Based off of: Star Wars’ ship, the X-Wing T-65

Features of ship:

  • Four separate wings (two on each side)
    • Both sides – Top wing is at approximately a 45° angle above the bottom wing
    • “X” design
    • Bottom wings set slightly more forward than top wings
    • Curved (“cambered”)
  • Rounded nose
  • Propellers
    • Parallel to each other

Benefits of ship:

  • Energy minimized
    • Limited interference between wings
    • Minimization of the drag force
    • Reduced start up speed
  • Sturdiness

Estimated bill of materials: $120.00

Materials needed (beyond original AEV parts):

  • Nose of ship – purchased at hobby store
  • Wings (4) – 3D printed
