Abbey Hamilton’s AEV Design

Based off of: Star Wars’ ship, the TIE Fighter

Features of ship:

  • “Control room”
    • Bridges connect to the wings
    • Houses the base of the AEV, the base of the arm, the Arduino, and the battery
  • Wings
    • Consist of 3 sides
    • Each side is parallel to its counterpart on the control room
    • Angle between top and bottom wings is approximately 120°
  • Propellors
    • Back of ship

Benefits of ship:

  • Increased efficiency
    • Reduced drag force
    • Maintain operational consistency
  • Increased propulsion efficiency
    • Specific placement of propellors

Estimated bill of materials: $11o.00

Materials needed (beyond original AEV parts):

  • Wings (2) – 3D printed
  • “Control room” – Hobby store
  • Bridges (2) – 3D printed
