The design team has been delegated the task of developing a prototype Advanced Energy Vehicle capable of fulfillingĀ operational and design requirements of park owners and board members who plan to open Jurassic Park. The system will be unmanned, built to scale, and will exhibit distinct features developed by the engineers as they work as a team to produce an innovative design.
The final design should be a suspended, autonomously controlled, energy-efficient, cost-effective, and safe vehicle which is capable of navigating both directions on a monorail track using propellers. It will contain a fastened-together frame which houses both the control system and propulsion system.
It will operate starting at the visitor center, then it will navigate to the park’s entrance gate and stop until the gate is lowered. Upon clearance it will enter the park, move to the storage facility, wait to pick up a caboose, and return to the entrance gate. The vehicle will then stop, wait to be cleared, and then proceed to the visitor’s center. This process should complete in less than 150 seconds and use the least amount of energy possible.
