Lab 5- Systems Analysis 1

This lab was focused on gathering experimental data that would help with another of the mission objectives, energy management. Included in the AEV kits are two different sized propellers which can each be run in one of two configurations, push or pull, the difference being the direction of thrust produced by the propeller. Using the wind tunnel and thrust stand data acquisition system, it was possible to get both thrust and RPM readings for different levels of current supplied by the Arduino to the motor. Through data analysis of these four data points it is possible to find, among other things, the propulsion efficiency and propeller advance ratio. This lab showed what propeller size and configuration yielded the most energy efficient results.
