Attendees: Ryan Provost, Julie Miller, Heather Long, Brandon Hines, Samantha Peterson, Carlotta Penn, Melanie Qualls, Jessica Woodruff, Jackie Von Speigel, Bobbie Sin, Ryann Randall, Nancy Dugan, Laura Goodrich (USAC)

Welcome:  Julie and Ryan welcomed the group and shared the agenda

EHE SAC Survey:  Nancy Dugan shared that the team is meeting in March to review past surveys and start working on updating the survey.  The timing has not been determined at this point but will not go out until late summer.  More to come

Staff Equity Report Shared:  Ryan shared the Staff Equity Report via email and in the chat.  Discussed that they had met with the dean to discuss the report.  Asked the group to review and share thoughts and any questions when they have a chance to review.  Share questions you may have for the dean about the report and recommendations.  College Leadership will send the report to the College later.

Talking points from the report:

Remote Work:  there needs to be consistency across units related to remote work and schedules.  Decisions on remote work vary and are inconsistent and there needs to be standards.  Resources are available.  Staff should be engaged in the implementation.  The final word on remote work will come from the President’s Office.

Training Managers – specifically faculty managers and new staff managers.  It may fall on EHE SAC and will work with HR and the dean’s office to work on recommendations. No clear path has been shared.

Next Steps – Please read the report and share it with staff within our units and ask for feedback and initial reactions and will discuss more in the March Meeting.  Plan to continue to have conversations with EHE Leadership so it will not be forgotten.  We hope to see priorities set.

Financial/Budget update: The Q&A from the town halls should be shared soon.

Report from College Council:  Ryan – EHE SAC has 2 seats on the College Council. Currently, the college council is working on the by-laws, benchmarking the by-laws, and creating a website with a link to EHE SAC, anyone can attend the meetings but not voting member meets the first Friday of the month in a hybrid setting (274 Arps/Zoom), Working on fiscal controls and decisions, transparency, meeting with the dean and meeting with provost to discuss shared leadership.   Ryan will share a link to the College Council with the group

USAC update from Laura Goodrich:  shared an overview of USAC, they are a liaison with colleges and university leadership, make recommendations to HR and the President, do not make policies

Ongoing Priorities include Winter Recess, PTO Policy 6.27 to clarify for mental health

New Priorities include the cost-of-living adjustment that is different than AMCP, improving staff retention, and pay equity through benchmarking, Looking at equity via roadmap. It is suppressing salaries, staff unhappy with the road map, look at market adjustments, ongoing.  Working with HR

USAC represents staff on university committees such as senate committees, Staff Senators, and other university committees

Staff Development and Recognition include staff development grants (applications in July), LinkedIn Learning, Distinguish Staff Awards, and Staff in Spotlight

Events include all staff wellness events, town halls with the President

Issues/concerns EHE SAC Discussion:

Budget/morale and what can we do to increase morale

Staff Appreciation in July – ask the dean’s office about options

Accountability Groups – lunch and learn, chat and network, and bring your lunch, themes as ways to positively impact morale
