Office of Community Outreach and Engagement
The OCOE provides resources and support for all student community work, including funding community projects through the Student and Student Organization Grant Program. Now using GivePulse, this office also works to connect students with volunteer opportunities. GivePulse is a civic engagement platform that connects and documents community engagement for students through promotion, registration, initiation, discussion, and evaluation. You can reach the College of Nursing GivePulse page here. For more information about the Office of Community Outreach and Engagement, please visit their webpage here.
Student Organizations
When it comes to building relationships, discovering passions and making the most out of your time at The Ohio State University, the best thing you can do is get involved with student organizations on campus.
We collaborated with four of our nursing student organizations– NSPIRE, Buckeye Men in Nursing, Nursing Students of Color and Nurses for Sexual and Reproductive Health– to create informational videos so you can learn more about each organization and how to get involved.
The OSU College of Nursing: BSN-DNP Mentorship Program
“As a virtual student, the BSN-DNP mentorship program has given me the opportunity to connect with a student peer who provides me with guidance and community that an on-campus student might experience. Having a mentor guide me through the program, helps me set goals and listens to my concerns which is invaluable. Not only has the Mentorship program assisted me as a student but it has also helped me develop career readiness as a future Nurse Practitioner and DNP!”

The purpose of the BSN-DNP mentorship program is to help with the academic and professional advancement of incoming and current OSU nursing graduate students. The goal of this program is for participants to build strong and trusting relationships that will guide and motivate future goals. The mentorship program is a student led organization at Ohio State that highlights the importance of mentorship in navigating graduate school. We can pair you with an experienced student mentor that may share a commonality or program specialty. Whether online or in-person, full time or part time, we want you to feel supported and see you succeed in this program. We know firsthand the support a mentor makes in this program and are excited for you to consider joining us.
If you are ready to join us and be matched in the coming weeks, please fill out the survey:
