Welcome to The Ohio State University College of Nursing!

Dear Incoming DNP Students,

I want to be among the first to congratulate you on your acceptance into the DNP Program in the College of Nursing at The Ohio State University. You have chosen an outstanding academic program and will find challenge, growth, and development as you embark on a journey to elevate your professional nursing practice to a new level and open doors that continue to stretch and grow your expertise, leadership, and practice.

As the Director for the DNP Program, I look forward to working with you, your advisor, course faculty and outside community partners as you achieve your personal and professional goals. The decision to advance your career is an important one and we offer you a nationally ranked program and nationally renowned faculty that will prepare and support you for nurse executive or clinical expert roles to help transform and lead nursing and healthcare into the future. The time for strong leadership and evidence-based practice is as important as ever to create nurse leaders who understand key aspects of healthcare including the business and financial climate; the importance of evidence-based practice, quality, and informatics; leadership characteristics that promote the growth of others and lead to executive and clinical decisions for driving quality, improved outcomes and lowering costs; and the critical need for diversity, equity and inclusion and inter-professional teams.

We are confident we have chosen you for our program because you are the type of leader needed for the future of healthcare. We are equally confident you will thrive and succeed in this program if you commit and are open to learning, growing, and stretching yourself. I am here to support you and have an open-door policy so feel free to reach out at any time for any questions, comments, or concerns.

Welcome to the DNP program and welcome to the Buckeye family!

Best,

Meet your DNP Program Director, Dr. Masciola

In order to be adequately prepared to begin the DNP program this autumn, please review the information on the site thoroughly. The site is designed to provide you with important information you need to know as a new doctoral student in the College of Nursing.

Use the “New Student Checklist ” below to ensure you have completed the necessary requirements prior to the start of the program:

If you were admitted as a Graduate Intra-University Transfer, your acceptance will not be reflected on BuckeyeLink and you will be unable to register for classes or access Beacon until you have been reactivated by the Graduate School. This process can take up to four weeks from the acceptance deadline. If you still cannot enroll after that time, please reach out to your Graduate Program Manager.

College of Nursing Scholarships

Thanks in large part to generous private donors, the College of Nursing has a number of scholarships available to our students currently enrolled in one of the college’s degree granting programs. Some of these are need-based and require completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the priority deadline. Continuing students are invited to submit the scholarship application to be considered for need-based and/or merit-based scholarships. These funds are limited and preference is given to full-time, degree-seeking students who are continuously enrolled. Students exclusively enrolled in a pre-major or certificate program are not eligible to apply for these opportunities.

Directions for students:

  1. Log in to ScholarshipUniverse using your Ohio State username (lastname.#) and password.
  2. Take the time to answer questions about yourself to build your profile. By integrating data from your admissions application, student record and self-reported information, ScholarshipUniverse will match you with scholarship opportunities.
  3. Once you are matched to a scholarship, follow prompts to complete the College of Nursing Scholarship Application.

The scholarship application is now open until June 30, 2024 on ScholarshipUniverse.
