Yundi Deng

Hi everyone! My name is Yundi Deng and I come from Beijing, China. My biggest hobby is playing video games. I play every kind of games and I could always gain pleasure from it. I could play a lot of sports – badminton, soccer, baseball, basketball. My favorite sport is soccer. I am a big fan of Bayern Munich. I am also a goalkeeper in my high school soccer team. As a Chinese, I am interested in Eastern Asia cultures. I have traveled to South Korean and Japan many times. I also learned Korean for 3 months.

I have many unforgettable memories in my high school, the Affiliated High School of Peking University. I was a member and the Financial Department head in Student Government. Me and my team were responsible for the reimbursement application and budget planning. Besides, I was the leader of a video game student club. Just yesterday, I became a member of the Chinese Scholars & Students Society at OSU. It is like a continuation of my job in high school. I organized activities like Overwatch, Hearthstone competition. Those activities help me improve my leadership and time management. Also, as I mentioned before, I was a goalkeeper in the soccer team. Although we stopped at the group stage in the school league, it taught me the importance of teamwork. I also participated in the Summer College at Duke University. That provides me the opportunity to meet and communicate with people from all around the world.

I am a freshman in OSU and my major is Finance. I choose this major because both my parents study Finance in undergraduate. Me and my parents always discuss about my future and career. I choose Ohio State because I always believe OSU is the best platform for me to experience colorful college life. Although currently I am studying online but I hope I could make it there next semester to experience campus life. I am also attracted by how Buckeyes see themselves as a big family. It makes OSU full of love and kindness but no discrimination and prejudice.
