Currently working creating these pieces ! I’ve been trying to figure out different colors and backgrounds I can use. As of right now this is the first finalized one of them, I recently got some new ink to test out some more!

These are phenomenal – the ink separating and spreading into the material – revealing more hues of blue than we expect. Cutting around the shape they make expresses their unique nature. (Are you are aware of Polly Apfelbaum’s work? She dyes crushed velvet, cuts around the edges and then lays them out on the floor.) These remind me of your spot of color per day in your notebook, by the way. Couple of questions: do you imagine these horizontally or vertically? Loose or adhered? Staying with blue inks or other colored inks? One support (is your canvas) or multiple supports? Explore these in the TBD exhibition to see what your discover!
