G.O.A.L.S.
I plan to engage in Global Awareness by studying abroad or traveling during my time in college, hopefully during my sophomore or junior year. I also want to take classes to learn about other cultures that I don’t know very much about, such as African American or Hispanic studies, would be interesting to me.
I plan to engage in Original Inquiry by possibly participating in a research lab at some point, or again, taking classes on subjects that I don’t really know much about, like astronomy or acting.
I plan to engage in Academic Enrichment by adding a minor in Communications next year in addition to a Nursing major, in hopes that it will make me more well-rounded and give me stronger communication skills as a nurse, as well as allow me to pursue my interest in Communications.
I hope to develop Leadership skills in the future by becoming a bible study leader within Real Life, a Christian organization on campus, and being able to lead girls closer to Christ as well as demonstrating my faith to them through my actions.
Besides the service projects that I have been involved in and will continue to be involved in through Mount, I hope to engage in Service by going on at least one Buck-I-Serv trip on a break while at Ohio State, hopefully this coming Spring Break or next year.

Artifacts
My artifact is my Ohio State mug. The meaning behind this mug is that we used it in every episode of Last Week Today, the news show that I was a part of during my senior year. Me and my friend Travis were the anchors, and every episode we would sit at a desk with our mugs while announcing the news. This show was one of my favorite memories of senior year and of high school, and that mug was sitting right there on the table while I was making those memories. My mug is also an artifact for me because I was born and raised in Columbus and have always been an Ohio State fan. Throughout senior year, I always knew I wanted to go to Ohio State but didn’t officially commit until April. It is so cool to be looking back now and seeing that the answer was right in front of me the whole time, and that I had a piece of my future with me while I was experiencing my senior year.

Hi! My name is Maria D’Andrea, and I am a student at THE Ohio State University majoring in business. I plan on specializing in Human Resources or Marketing and adding a double major in Communications second semester.
