About Me

My name is Ethan Cox, a 19 year old undergraduate student currently studying Mechanical Engineering at the Ohio State University.

I have interests in mechanical systems such as cars and the automobile industry, but also have interests in petroleum engineering for which I also plan to minor in the future. I am currently a member of the EcoCar 3 project team at OSU sponsored by General Electric where I work to make the most fuel efficient vehicle possible within a given set of constraints.

I currently am employed at Midwestern Plumbing Services during breaks from school where I am tasked to aid in the installation of plumbing systems on project sites and construction zones.

I have goals of earning a BS in Mechanical Engineering by 2021 while earning work experience outside of the classroom with companies in the form of co-ops during breaks from classes, or otherwise in unique situations.

I come from a small town in Batavia, Ohio, east of Cincinnati for which I have lived most of of my life before attending college in Columbus. I am a high honors graduate from my high school where I earned the IB Diploma and several AP credits. I am a recipient of the President’s Award for Educational Excellence. I believe that family is an important factor in my life and are greatly responsible for the situation I am in today.

Strengths:

  1. Achiever- I want to strive to being the best for both me and the people around me. I believe that it is essential for one to continue to try and become the best possible person they can become.
  2. Deliberative- I believe that the world has too many variables to predict what will happen next. I find that it is best to take everything the world throws at you from a perspective that can analyze the problem for what it is and how to solve it.
  3. Analytical- Many things in this world should not go unquestioned, it is a major issue in the media today. I believe that everything should be taken with a grain of salt and questioned rather than merely accepting notions that could be purely incorrect.
  4. Focus- Being able to focus on one essential task is important in the modern world. Individual goals should be taken into great attention till great breakthroughs are made in achieving them.
  5. Restorative- Fixing and finding solutions are enjoying to me. I find them to be a challenge that keeps my mind active and focused in difficult situations.
