Post Doctoral Researchers

Pankaj Kumar, PhD.
Postdoctoral Researcher
Hometown: Sitapu, India
Kumar.953@osu.edu

I got my Ph.D. degree from CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) Hyderabad, India. During my doctoral degree, I tried to understand the role of heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90) in drug resistance and tumor metastasis.
Currently, I am working as a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Coss’s lab, trying to explore the estrogen receptor-b (ERb) signaling in Non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases (NAFLD)/Non-acholic steatohepatitis (NASH).

Joo Young Na, PhD.
Postdoctoral Researcher
Hometown: Seoul, Republic of Korea
Na.162@osu.edu

I am currently a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Phelps’s lab. I got my Ph.D. degree in Clinical Pharmacology at Seoul National University. My main research field is pharmacometrics and pharmacokinetics.

Graduate Trainees

Adeoluwa Adeluola M.S.
1st year PhD candidate
Hometown: Lagos, Nigeria
Adeluola.1@osu.edu

I am a graduate student in the pharmaceutical sciences Ph.D. program. My research goal is to investigate novel strategies to improve the therapeutic outcomes of immunotherapies in advanced-stage cancers with cachectic comorbidity. Primarily, my project seeks to understand the effect of cancer cachexia on the pharmacokinetics of monoclonal antibodies administered via extravascular routes.

Fellowship: The Ohio State University Fellowship, 2022/2023

Min Hai
1st year PhD candidate
Hometown: Nanjing, China
Hai.29@osu.edu

I am a graduate student specializing in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics modeling.

Kyeongmin Kim, PharmD, MS.
3rd year PhD candidate
Hometown: Busan, Republic of Korea
Kim.7648@osu.edu

I earned my PharmD and Master’s in Pharmaceutical Science in Korea and then worked in Dong-A ST, a Korean Pharmaceutical company, focusing on preclinical PK studies for drug development. I am passionate about studying drug pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics and patient characteristics that are associated with variability of the drug PK/PD to achieve my goal of contributing to personalized pharmacotherapy. My current study is to understand factors influencing pharmacokinetics and response of immune checkpoint inhibitors and other anti-cancer drugs using PK/PD modeling/simulation.

Emma Montgomery
3rd year PhD candidate
Hometown: Lewis Center, Ohio
Montgomery.1016@osu.edu

I am a 3rd year PhD student on the Coss side of the Coss/Phelps lab focusing on the role of sex hormone receptors in sexual dimorphism and the progression of hepatocellular carcinoma. My current project has been understanding androgen receptor splice variant (AR-SV) signaling in the context of HCC and working to develop drug analogs to target AR-SV positive HCC.

Bryan Remaily
3rd year PhD candidate
Hometown: Horsham, Pennsylvania
Remaily.1@osu.edu

I am a 3rd year Graduate Research Fellow focused on Fc Gamma contribution to antibody PK/PD and how it changes in disease state under the advisement of Dr. Mitch Phelps. My work is focused on understanding Fc Gamma receptors’ contribution to monoclonal antibody Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics, and how disease state may affect Fc Gamma receptor influence.
