Scheduled Maintenance Window
All CBC computing services, including Windows and Linux file services, print services, and networking, will be unavailable on Tuesday, 14-Aug, from 6:00 p.m. until midnight. During this time we will perform server and network switch hardware and software maintenance. Please be aware that services might appear to be available before midnight, but availability will be intermittent.
Mail, LinuxFS, RHEL5 server & workstation issues resolved
Services have been stable since approximately 10:00 am this morning. Patches were applied to all affected systems this afternoon.
Mail, LinuxFS, RHEL5 server & workstation issues
All Linux systems running RHEL5 are currently experiencing stability issues. This includes the Chemistry mail server, LinuxFS, legacy web servers, and some workstations. The mail server is back on-line, but it with likely crash again. I think I’ve figured out a solution to the issues, but it won’t be in place until late Sunday afternoon at best. –Steve Fabian
Chemistry Mail Server off-line
The Chemistry Mail Server is currently off-line. We’re working to resolve the issue (4:30 pm).
Maintenance Complete
All services should be available as of 10:45 pm.
All CBC Computer Services down on 12-Jun-12 from 5:00 p.m. until very late that evening
All Chemistry and Biochemistry computer services are going offline at 5pm on 12-Jun-12 for maintenance in preparation for next term, the Molecular Spectroscopy Symposium, and the CBEC Ground-breaking. Services will be restored very late that evening.
ASC Exchange Service Restored
As of 12:50 pm, the ASC Exchange Service has been restored. ASC Tech is still working to address the network problems that caused this morning’s email & calendaring outage.
ASC Exchange Service Off-line
The ASC Exchange Service (email, calendaring, & OWA) is currently off-line. ASC Tech is working to resolve this issue. (9:40 am)
Maintenance scheduled for Saturday
We need to perform time-critical maintenance that will require interruptions of computing services late Wednesday and again on Saturday:
– Wednesday, 14-Dec, at 11:00 p.m. the Windows file server winfs will be briefly unavailable so that we can increase allocations of various virtual resources.
– Saturday, 17-Dec, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., all central departmental computing services will be unavailable, including web, printing, e-mail, and Linux & Windows file services. Please note that users of ASC Exchange for e-mail will not experience an interruption of that service.
