We need to perform off-line maintenance on a number of computing services in CBC, before the semester resumes. We will start work at 5:00 p.m. on 18-Mar-16. We will end all work by 12:00 midnight that evening, if not before. I will send out an email to all faculty, staff, and graduate students if our work is complete sooner than midnight.

Web service maintenance is complete as of 10:35 pm.
Chemistry web services will be off-line briefly from 10:00 – 10:30 pm tonight so that maintenance can be performed. This outage will affect the group, OPR, research, TWIG, and web servers.
A reboot of the Department firewall is required. This will take place at 6 pm on Friday, January 29. Our access to sites outside the Department will be interrupted for around one minute. Open sessions may need to be restarted. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Email and web services are back online. Linux workstations can be used again.

The web server maintenance is complete as of 11:30 pm.
Maintenance will be performed on all Linux servers & workstations on
Friday, 1/15 from 7 pm to 11 pm. The follow services will be off-line
during this time: email, TWIG, DPR/OPR, Calcium, web, group, mss,
linuxfs, Samba, SSH tunneling. Linux users should logout of their
workstations before 7 pm on Friday to avoid problems. Workstations will
be restarted during the maintenance period, so any active calculations
will be disrupted.
Maintenance will be performed on the web servers tomorrow night (Wed, 1/13) from 10 pm to 12 am. The follow services will be off-line during this time: TWIG, DPR/OPR, Calcium, web, group, mss
The Linux Server maintenance is complete. All web services should be back on-line, except for RT.
