My name is Veronica “Ronnie” Carlson. I am a first-year student from Dunedin, Florida, majoring in Arts Management and minoring in both Vocal Music and Music, Media, and Enterprise. I plan on changing the world and I want to start by entering the music industry after I graduate from The Ohio State University, to pursue a career as a vocal performer or to establish my own record label to promote other aspiring artists. I am a recent graduate of a nationally-accomplished and one-of-a-kind music and leadership program called the Tarpon Springs Leadership Conservatory for the Arts. There I served my peers as the President of the organization and demonstrated how to be a more efficient and effective leader through the application of my core values everyday. I love being involved in my community, performing, leadership, promoting arts education, advocating for environmental conservation, and local music/arts projects. At OSU I am a part of the Green Engineering Scholars program to aid in exploring the world of earth-friendly living and building, in my constant mission to protect our planet. I am the first in my family to attend The Ohio State University, and I am determined to be the first in my family to graduate college. When I’m not in class, I enjoy going to concerts, listening to records, exploring with friends, eating good food, and singing. I am very interested in research opportunities and internships involving music, sustainability, arts, and innovation.
