The OSU Quantathon is OSU’s first ever Quantitative Finance centered Hackathon, where a teams of 3-5 students analyze financial data and develop optimal trading strategies. Faculty and Industry Professionals will then judge the submissions on merits such as practicality, potential profits generated with the strategies, and presentation of insights and ideas.

Denise Dzekova| Software Engineer at Google
March 29th, 2024: 5-5:45pm @ Math Tower 724
After graduating with a BS in Computational and Applied Math from UChicago in 2018, Denise Dzekova joined Goldman Sachs as a Quant Analyst. She used a blend of Computer Science, Finance, and Math to develop hedging strategies/trades for the Commodity & Currency Derivatives Analytics Group. Denise is now a Software Engineer at Google working on Site Reliability Engineering Group.
Alex Hookway, FSA| Sr AVP, NF Quantitative Risk Management at Nationwide Financial
March 29th, 2024: 6-7pm @ Math Tower 724
After graduating with a BS in Economics from Ohio State, Alex Hookway joined Nationwide Financial as an Actuary. He is currently the AVP of Quantitative Risk Management where he leads a team responsible for hedging of embedded guarantees in products sold by Nationwide Financial. Alex holds a Masters in Analytics from Georgia Tech.
