Real IPM, located in Thika, Kenya, provides a wide range of bio-products to assist growers in eliminating the use of specific groups of more toxic pesticides. Founded in 2003 by Louise Labuschagne and Dr Henry Wainwright, Real IPM, now a member of the Biobest Group, employs 228 members of staff. In addition to high quality predatory mites, biopesticides are produced in laboratories in Kenya. Real IPM has global rights to several isolates of Metarhizium.

Over its four years of implementation, the program will benefit more than 40,000 rural families, which will include 60 percent women and 30 percent youth as activity beneficiaries. Mboga na Matunda will achieve its objectives by: scaling improved technologies and practices; scaling market system models that serve as platforms for technology expansion; and strengthening the overall capacity of the industry, including the enabling environment for incentivizing investments along the entire value chain.”
