Design
Background
Hi, I’m Lea! I’m from a small village just outside of Youngstown, OH. I’m currently a first-year transfer student with intentions of focussing on Visual Communication Design. I just recently transferred from Pace University, which was located in the financial district of New York City. I chose to transfer to Ohio State University because I wanted the opportunity to learn Design, and unfortunately my previous school did not offer any programs of my interest.
What Design Means To Me
As I further my educational path, I found that I wanted to engage in learning how to design. I’ve always been fascinated by design, but it wasn’t until I was in my second semester of college until I decided I wanted to pursue design as a career. I had made friends with students who shared similar interests in art. As we became good friends, I began to see a lot of behind the scenes of their stage design program. Seeing how my friends were gaining skills as stage designers, I believed I can further myself more by engaging in design education. I value the education of Design because I believe I will learn many elements of skills that will help benefit my professional career. I’m interested in learning more fundamentals of design, and am ready for any new ideas I’ll learn for the year. I look forward to meeting other designers, and joining on-campus clubs and activities throughout the year to further my education of design.
My Hobbies
When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy painting. I enjoy making art for others and myself. Many friends and family members come to me for art pieces and photography. Although photography is a newer hobby of mine, I have a lot of fun working with my friends to create uplifting and creative photoshoots. In the end, they can use the photos I take of them to update their social media accounts. It’s nice to see when others find the photos I take as pleasing, and I enjoy seeing how my photos continue to get better as I practice more.
