The Effects of Bilateral Knee Pain and Dry Needling on Laterality Recognition, Movement and Function

  • This study investigates the effects of chronic bilateral knee pain and dry needling on on laterality recognition, movement, and muscle function.
  • Movement analysis will be performed with Go Pros while participants perform the lateral step down test.
  • Muscle function of the vastus medialis oblique muscle will be analyzed with ultrasound imaging.

  • Isometric thigh strength will be analyzed with our Biodex.

  • This study is supported by a grant awarded by the Ohio Physical Therapy Association in 2019.

OPTA awarded Matt Briggs and Cody Mansfield a small grant to investigate the effects of bilateral knee pain and dry needling on muscle force production, movement, and left/right discrimination.
