Hello, Neuroscience Enthusiasts of Central Ohio,
We are pleased to announce that through the partnership of two local neuroscience student-led organizations, we are hosting a second official local Brain Bee competition. Neuroscience Education Urban and Rural Outreach (N.E.U.R.O.) and Power in Neuroscience (P.I.N.), are both recognized student body organizations at Ohio State University that empower students in the state of Ohio with science education, outreach, and support.
The mission of the International Brain Bee is:
“To motivate students to learn about the brain and to inspire them to pursue careers in neuroscience so they can help treat and find cures for brain disorders.”
The international competition includes 5 sections of varied questions covering material from “Essential Neuroscience, 3rd Edition” by Siegal and Sapru and “The Brain: An Introduction to Functional Neuroanatomy” by Watson, Paxinos, and Kirkcaldie. The 5 sections are Neuroanatomy, Diagnosis, Live Q&A, Written, and Histology. More information on those can be found online at https://thebrainbee.org/competition/.
Our exam will be shorter and based on a free text resource:
