My name is Kartik Malik. I am from India. I am currently in my sophomore year pursuing BS in Aviation from The Ohio State University. When I was 7, I was send to a boarding school for my education which is located in a famous hill station of India i.e. Nainital. I found science subjects fascinating and exciting which made me thought about pursuing my Bachelors in Science. I still find it awesome that man has put together his creativity, innovativeness, metal and grease and brought Aircraft and other faster means of Transportation in existence.
I still remember running out of my house as soon as I used to hear the sound of the airplane to see it flying over me. I used to glance it for quite long and think that how is it possible for something to fly. I was curious to learn more about this and asked my Grandfather to arrange a trip so that I can also get a chance of flying in an airplane. Surprisingly, one of my grandfather friend was a Captain in Indian Air Force and I was fortunate enough to meet him and ask him for a ride. Few days later, I went on a small ride in the aircraft with my family and as soon as the wheels left the runway, I was sure of what to do the rest of my life. That day I decided of becoming an Airline pilot.
I came to United States for getting better practical knowledge and good flying skills which will assist me in conducting a safe flight operation. My aim is to get into a US based airline due to the healthy work environment and good pay scale offered by them. The benefits which the airline gives to their employees is also a considerable point for me as I love travelling to new places and meeting new people.
