Harvest Home Volunteers – New Information!

New Procedure for Harvest Home Fair Volunteers

This year at Harvest Home Fair, the security team has implemented new procedures for volunteers.

  1. We WILL NOT be able to let anyone into the side gate by our tent. Volunteers must enter through the main gate. Your name will be on a list and you will receive a wristband to get onto the grounds each day you’re volunteering. If you signed up on the signup genius, or are someone who typically helps out, your name is already on the list. Click here for the list: Go.osu.edu/harvesthomelist
  2. All youth must be accompanied by an adult at all times on the property.

Email Claire at Linepensel.2@osu.edu with any questions. Hope to see you at Harvest Home Fair!!

It’s Not Too Late To Sign Up to Help at Harvest Home Fair!

Harvest Home Fair is only 8 days away and we need help manning the 4-H tent! Shifts are short and are really fun!

Here’s what you can sign up for:

Chick Hatchery: help the public explore all the adorable chicks! This is a big hit at the fair and people come year after year just for this.

Temporary Tattoos: Instead of face painting, we are going to have a temporary tattoo station. Put your creative talents to good use!

Concessions/Gift Area: We sell candy and snacks and have gifts people can purchase with a donation to 4-H.

Ignite by 4-H Summit 2026

Ignite by 4-H National Summit

Wednesday, March 25h – Sunday, March 29th in Washington D.C

Ignite by 4-H is a national summit designed to bring high school youth (between 14-18) together from across the country and give them the opportunity to explore the best 4-H has to offer in different tracks including Agriscience, Animal Science, Community Accelerators, Healthy Living and STEM. A hallmark of Ignite is the Lead to Change campaign which empowers youth to be Agents of Change where you (as a delegation) will create and present a proposal to address issues within your community. The best proposals are then awarded funding for implementation. In 2026, Ignite by 4-H returns for youth to attend in-person in Washington D. C. during March 25-29, 2026. Harvest Home Fair -Exhibition Animals

Harvest Home Fair is September 3-7 at Harvest Home Park 3961 N Bend Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45211. This is an opportunity to show off our animals to the public and teach them about 4-H animal projects. To do that, we need folks to bring animals for our Education Zone. They would be for display only and not included in the livestock auction.

Animals we typically showcase:

Rabbits

Chickens/poultry (ducks, geese, etc.)

Goats

Pigs

Horses/donkeys

Cows

Sheep

If you are able to bring an animal to Harvest Home Fair, please use this link to let us know what species and how many.  Just like at the Hamilton County Community Fair, YOU MUST PROVIDE CARE AND FOOD/WATER FOR YOUR ANIMALS. Animals will be moved in starting at 5:30pm on September 3rd and moved out after 5pm on September 7th. Contact Claire at Linepensel.2@osu.edu with questions.

Harvest Home Fair

The 2025 Harvest Home Fair is right around the corner, and we need your help!

What is the Harvest Home Fair? It is a small weekend fair that has been hosted by the Cheviot-Westwood Kiwanis for more than 85 years.  The Kiwanis have been strong supporters and advocates of Hamilton County 4-H. They sponsor awards and provide funds for trips, camps, and college scholarships. We value their friendship as a community partner.

During the weekend, September 3-7, there will be several animal exhibitions and demonstrations, along with a 4-H Education Zone that includes project displays. This is an important partnership for Hamilton County 4-H and a wonderful opportunity to educate the public about all that 4-H has to offer.

We need help in the following areas:

Set-Up: Help to set up pens and cages in both the Education Zone and Livestock tents.

Concession: We will be selling snacks and giftware/trinkets each day of the fair.

Education Zone: Animals to use for the Education Zone. We will also need folks to roam the Ed Zone to answer questions about the animals and ensure safety of fair goers and animals.

Chick Hatchery: Educate the public on chick incubation and raising chickens.

Temporary Tattoos: We will provide all the supplies for temporary tattoos.

Clean Up: tearing down the pens and cages in the Ed Zone and Livestock tent.

Please review the below sign-up form and fill out when you will be available to help. Remember, it takes more than a few people to make things possible, so do your part!

If you have questions, please email Claire Linepensel at linepensel.2@osu.edu.

Thanks for all you do!
