4-H Fundraisers – Where Does the Money Go?

Earlier this week, you received an email about the upcoming Cincinnati Reds Fundraiser baseball game we have coming up on May 16th.  You can still get tickets for the game here: fevo-enterprise.com/event/Ohio4H25
Here is an explanation of what the money raised from our fundraisers this year will be going towards.  Hamilton County 4-H has an endowment fund that needs to be fully funded by November 25, 2025.  Currently, our endowment fund has $62,554.70 and we need to raise $37,447.30 to meet the $100,000 goal.
What is the 4-H Endowment?
The 4-H Endowment is a special fund where donated assets are invested, and the income earned is used to support Hamilton County 4-H in perpetuity (FOREVER).  This creates a long-term source of funding for Hamilton County 4-H.  These funds were set up back in 2019 to help counties with minimal county funding to ensure they continue to provide 4-H opportunities and 4-H staff.
What will we use the 4-H Endowment fund for?
  • Scholarships to 4-H Camp, State, and National 4-H trips
  • Expanding the school and community 4-H program.
  • Transportation to the county fair and 4-H camp. The goal is to reduce barriers to participation of our county and city’s youth participants.
  • 4-H club scholarships for field trips to local spaces I.e., museums, local businesses, workforce development opportunities (touring a meat packing plant, touring a business to learn more about that career). Focus on investing in the county.
  • Annual large service project to benefit the county/city.
  • Annual marketing budget to pay for billboards, commercials, radio ads, social media campaigns and the like.
  • 4-H staff.
How can you help raise these funds?
Support the fundraisers!  Share out to any businesses or friends that would be interested in donating directly to the endowment.  You can  share this link with them: give.osu.edu/hamilton4h
Next year, Hamilton County 4-H will turn 110 years old!  Won’t you help us continue providing quality 4-H experiences for another 110 years?
