Year in Review

[ “Year in Review”  is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student.  You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year.  For more information, go to: http://honors-scholars.osu.edu/e-portfolio. G.O.A.L.S.

Global Awareness: Diversity is only beneficial when individuals decide to immerse themselves into the culture of others both here at Ohio State and throughout the world. The ability to grow your experiences far beyond the average person is a relatively easy thing to do that develops invaluable skills along the way of enjoying some of life’s most precious experiences. Travelling is a big goal of mine, and while it can be expensive, I plan to save as much money as I can to eventually backpack throughout Europe and Asia for extended periods of time, to learn the languages and culture. In the meantime, I hope to travel to closer locations and see some of the world’s most beautiful mountaintops and environments as nature, however important, is becoming increasingly separated from our lives.

Original Inquiry: Throughout all of my time here at Ohio State, I hope to be able to reflect on the things I experience and make inquiries based of those experiences. As a result, I will be a smarter and more thought-provoking individual. While performing a large amount of research doesn’t interest me, I hope to read and apply others’ large scale research to help gear me for my interest’s futures as I slowly become a more and more influential part of them.

Academic Enrichment: Obviously being here at Ohio State I have access to some of the best educational resources in the world. I hope to pursue my courses rigorously while learning new skills that interest me that are also beneficial to have in the business world. This will make me an overall more interesting individual that has a wide understanding of all the world has to offer.

Leadership Development: Honors & With all the new experiences and trials I hope to create for myself, I hope it will make me a more empathetic and relatable invidual that will tie in well with my communication skills and knowledge of language, both foreign and English, that I will avidly pursue through extra-curriculars at Ohio State. This is my plan for turning myself into the best leader that I’m capable of.

Service Engagement: Honors & I hope to develop apps for non-profit organizations in Code that Cares as a way to both do good in the world as it is an obligation as human being, and to further develop the skills I will be using with my degree in the real world so that I may be as valuable as an individual as possible, gaining myself the opportunity to do even more good in the world.

Career

[“Career” is where you can collect information about your experiences and skills that will apply to your future career.  Like your resume, this is information that will evolve over time and should be continually updated.   For more information, go to: http://honors-scholars.osu.edu/e-portfolio. Artifacts

The Cord Cube was an idea that I lead throughout the development of its business model. I learned about all aspects of a business, the moving parts that need to be planned out, some of the questions that need to be answered, as well as the quality of an idea or plan in relation to the market. Using feedback from others, I learned about the process of legitimizing an idea so that the plan developed has the highest chance of success through its originality and target market. By using this as a learning experience, I will be able to use these skills to develop a quality product in the future when my abilities in Computer Science bring me to a point where I can work out any logistics regarding apps or websites needed for a product. This will allow me to create products with more independence and minimizes the risks involved with any business I pursue in the future. If I do not pursue any other businesses in the future, I surely can apply these skills to any other places of employment where my creativity and understanding of markets can work together to develop a product that has a good understanding of the background work required to present the product to customers thanks to my knowledge of computers.
