Year in Review

[ “Year in Review”  is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student.  You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year.  For more guidance on using your ePortfolio, including questions and prompts that will help you get started, please visit the Honors & Scholars ePortfolio course in Carmen. G.O.A.L.S.

G stands for global enrichment. This is when students develop an appreciation for diversity. I will declare a Japanese minor, look into study abroad opportunities in Japan, and continue being apart of The Korean Student Association and other cultural clubs. O stands for original inquiry. This is when students participate in creative inquiry or scholarly events. I plan to email and contact professors on campus and potentially researchers from the Nationwide Children’s Hospital about any research assistant openings. It would be interesting to learn more about immunological mechanisms and diseases through research. A stands for academic enrichment. This is when students are involved in academic curricular experiences, in and outside the classroom. I aspire to be a doctor and plan to go to medical school. I am very interested in the mechanisms of the brain and how they relate to the immune system; that is why I chose to major in Neuroscience. I will pursue a GPA as close to as 4.0 as possible. L stands for leadership development. This is when students develop leadership skills that can be exposed during class or extracurricular activities. I am involved in Cellohio and currently playing the first cello part. This experience will help me coordinate better, expressing my thoughts and ideas with the group. I also play to apply to be an eboard member of KSA. This will help me become more organized and allow me to communicate more with people when we plan events. S stands for service engagement. This is when students give back to their community. I plan to participate in service events with Nu Rho Psi and apply for a volunteer position at the Wexner Medical Center. Working at the medical center will open my perspective of how doctors and staff members operate, how they treat patients, and teach me how I can better help those in need.
