The Ohio State University Department of Evolution, Ecology and Organismal Biology
Undergraduate Research Assistant – Advisor: Allison Snow, Ph.D. September 2015 – March 2017
Assisted laboratory with investigations in population ecology, specifically glyphosate resistance in
Arabidopsis and Marestail. Contributed to field research, work in multiple greenhouses, and data
entry. Collaborated with other undergraduate research assistants to complete tasks.
The Ohio State University Department of Women’s, Gender, & Sexuality Studies
Undergraduate Research Assistant—Advisor: Lauren Strand, MA May 2017 – August 2017
Assisted Ph.D. candidate with project on the lived experience of college-level STEM students with
invisible disabilities. Transcribed interviews using computer software, analyzed transcripts for data
coding and interpretation, worked on a team of undergraduate assistants.
CLINICAL INVOLVEMENT

Volunteer – The James Cancer Hospital & Solove Research Institute January 2015 – May 2018
Specifically served in the Restful Nights Program, Critical Care Service Desk, and Ambulatory
Chemotherapy Clinic over my four years volunteering by making The James a warm and welcoming
place via assisting with questions, walking them to destinations within the hospital complex,
distributing amenities and refreshments to patients during their treatments and providing
companionship.

Undergraduate Student Shadowing – Dr. Deepak Rai, MD Autumn 2017
Shadowed Hospitalist and Internist Dr. D. Rai, MD, over the course of three months for a total of 15
total hours of shadowing. Intently followed and asked questions of this preceptor at UH OSU East,
UH Main Hospital, and The James Cancer Center in a variety of roles.

Undergraduate Student Shadowing – Prof. N. Bocar Summer 2016
While studying French and African American and African Studies at the Université de Cheikh Anta
Diop, I had the opportunity to shadow physicians in a number of different facilities across the capital
city and at the University itself. I shadowed pediatricians, nephrologists, oncologists, and general
practitioners over a two week period. All of the shadowing experiences and tours were conducted in
French or Wolof.
Franklin County Coroner’s Office – Columbus, Ohio
Student Shadowing Experience Autumn 2016
Shadowed numerous autopsy procedures in the morgue department and learned about the field of
forensic pathology. Observed pathologists, technicians, and criminal justice personnel over one day.
Mercy Medical Center – Canton, Ohio
Volunteer – Emergency Room Liaison Summer 2015
I assisted Emergency Department personnel in aiding patients, volunteering 70 total hours, striving to
satisfy the needs of patients and families in waiting areas, provided wheelchair transport. I also
shadowed doctors in Dental Clinic and Surgery areas of the hospital.

Leads, manages and develops a staff of 35 office assistant student employees. Manages
administration tasks for a residence hall of 1200 students: mail, packages, keys, payroll, scheduling.
