About Me

DSC_0745

I am an aeronautical & astronautical engineering pre-major hailing from Strongsville, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland.  My college goals include getting good grades, making new friends, and having the time of my life.  I would also like to go to graduate school to research topics that intrigue me.  I’m interested in many things including music, running, and learning about subjects I am passionate about.

I played in several neighborhood bands throughout high school, providing any combination of guitar, bass, vocals, and occasionally piano to the bands I was a part of.  I also wrote the music for the bands, with genres ranging from punk rock to alternative metal to acoustic to ska.  My favorite band is Sum 41, but I’m a fan of lots of different genres and can tolerate listening to almost anything.  I would definitely be cool with jamming out with some fellow musicians at OSU.

As aforementioned, I enjoy running to keep in shape, clear my mind, and blow off steam.  I was a varsity cross country and track runner throughout high school, with my events including the 5k, the 1600m, and the 800m.  I had never run before high school, nor was I part of any other sport other than elementary school soccer.  Running helped me become a more determined person as well as a competent leader, allowing me to become the captain of the cross country team at Strongsville.  I  would eventually like to get back into competitive shape.

As part of the honors program, it probably comes as no surprise that I love learning about my passions.  When I was young, I was interested in three things: bugs, dinosaurs, and space.  As a career path, I’m choosing to learn about space.  I’m interested in just about everything space related from rocket science to astronomy, and I believe that scientific and technological advancements in the space field will push our civilization to new levels of intelligence, unity, and self-awareness that can hardly be imagined in the present day.  I was lucky enough to land an internship at NASA’s Glenn Research Center immediately after graduating high school, and I would like to continue doing summer internships for NASA as well as getting into Ohio State’s undergraduate research program.

I suppose if I had to describe myself with a few adjectives it would be logical, passionate, and resilient.
