Don W. Miller Education Fund

This scholarship was established in September 2016 by James Ellis, Ted Quinn and family and friends of Don Miller and is awarded to students in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering primarily Nuclear Engineering students.

Dr. Miller served 20 years as Professor and Chair of the Nuclear Engineering Program and as the Director of the Nuclear Reactor Lab at Ohio State. During his tenure at Ohio State, he was the recipient of the OSU College of Engineering Research Award and recognized as an OSU College of Engineering Distinguished Alumnus.

Dr. Miller impacted thousands of students and faculty at the Nuclear Engineering Program and the entire College of Engineering during his time at Ohio State.

Dr. Miller retired from his Nuclear Engineering Professorship in 2010. After his retirement, he continued to invest in the success of the Nuclear Engineering program and earned the OSU Mechanical Engineering Bertha Lamme Feicht award in 2011 for all his contributions to Nuclear Engineering.

In 2015, Dr. Miller passed away after a long illness. He truly left his mark at the university and will fondly be remembered by all his students, faculty and everyone he encountered during his tenure. To honor his work and continue his legacy, members of the Nuclear Engineering Program Oversight board established a scholarship in Don’s name.
