About Us

Youth Beat Radio is a youth-inspired and produced radio/podcast program sponsored by the School of Environment and Natural Resources at The Ohio State University, the Puffin Foundation West, and local sponsors.  First created in 2009, the program has involved hundreds of  high school students, university students, recent graduates, and others in production activities or in interviews.  We have worked with schools and organizations and have also incorporated the program into classes at Ohio State.

Our shows focus on environmental and societal issues, community needs, leadership, and involvement, but also include topics such as the arts, culture, local organizations, current trends, and practical information such as preparing for college.  We also cover personal stories–stories of challenge, compassion, and life experiences.

Every day youth are taking the lead and making a difference in improving their schools, neighborhoods, communities, and the environment.  Our aim is to get the word out to listeners of all ages.  Tune in to Youth Beat Radio and hear what’s happening!
