BSGP graduate student Miguel A. Lopez, Jr., is among 40 doctoral students throughout the US to be chosen for the Yale Ciencia Academy for Career Development (YCA). The YCA is a year long NIH funded program aimed to develop traditionally underrepresented graduate students through direct mentoring, peer support, and networking. It utilizes STEM networks to enhance the engagement and participation of people from diverse backgrounds. Miguel will be traveling to the national AAAS meeting in Austin, Texas for the annual YCA program meeting in February, 2018.
Randi was among 8 students chosen to present their work during the BSGP Annual Retreat. The presenters were chosen based on the strength of an abstract describing their work. Randi spoke about “Retroviral integrase drug resistance mutants display a novel mechanism of reduced viral fitness.” Congratulations, Randi!
Randi is having a busy week! Today she presents an hour long seminar describing her work to the Center for Retrovirus Research. This afternoon she will celebrate a year of great science at the lab Annual Holiday Party. Tomorrow she will give a short presentation at the BSGP Annual Retreat. Great job, Randi!
