If you are interested in forming a youth-led cooperative, get in touch with Joy Bauman at the Ohio State CFAES Center for Cooperatives.  Email bauman.67@osu.edu to learn how you can start a youth-led cooperative to manage your school farm or greenhouse, or to explore other opportunities that foster youth entrepreneurship using the cooperative business model.

 

Mid America Cooperative Council

The Mid America Cooperative Council (MACC) is a multi-state, non-profit trade association with members located in the heart of Mid America – Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio. MACC supports educational programming that promotes, fosters, and enhances cooperative values. Bringing together cooperative leaders, academic experts, and development specialists, MACC promotes the education, support, and enhancement of cooperatives across the region. The Council provides an innovative approach to education through webinars, roundtables, training sessions, and even customized programming. Creating opportunities to inform the public and connect members with resources, MACC fosters the education and promotion of the cooperative business model.

 

AgriPOWER

AgriPOWER is an elite leadership program designed specifically for farmers and agribusiness professionals by the Ohio Farm Bureau. This year-long program focuses on public policy issues confronting agriculture and the food industry. It helps individuals develop the skills necessary to become effective leaders and advocates for agriculture.

 

Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives Youth Tour

Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives Youth Tour is an annual leadership program sponsored by Buckeye Rural Electric Cooperative. It’s a week-long, all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C. that gives exceptional high school students the opportunity to meet with their congressional leaders at the U.S. Capitol, make new friends from across the state and country, and see many of the famous Washington, D.C., sights.
