Dental Shadowing Experience

From the beginning of this semester, I joined an association called USNDA, which stands for Undergraduate Student National Dental Association. The purpose of this organization is to aid in increasing the number of minority students entering dental schools, increasing the knowledge of dentistry in undergraduate students, and in improving DAT scores of pre-dental undergraduates. This organization also provides me information about summer programs and dental research experiences. At the beginning of this semester, they paired me with a dentist around campus, so I can shadow him.

I just started to shadow Dr. Kvitko recently, so I didn’t get much chance to know much about this dental office. During the shadowing, I learned how to manage my time, like shadowing required me to put my time and effort into it and on top of my school schedule. I also learned how to give my best onto everything. I will put my best to shadow. As of right now, I am hoping to gain more knowledge about how to function in a clinical environment, which is getting some personal advices from Dr. Kvitko about getting prepare for dental school or being dentist. I am looking forward my next shadowing with Dr. Kvitko.
