Year in Review

[ “Year in Review”  is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student.  You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year.  For more information, go to: http://honors-scholars.osu.edu/e-portfolio. G.O.A.L.S.

Global Awareness: This category applies to me in many ways. I was captain of my Model United Nations team in high school and I hope to continue with that activity here at OSU. I also hope to study abroad and broaden my horizons about other cultures and ideas.

Original Inquiry: I believe Model United nations also applies to this category. It forces me to come up with unusual ideas and solutions to world problems and really makes me think creatively.
Academic Enrichment: Academic success has always been important to me and it continues to be here at OSU. My involvement with organizations like Quiz Bowl forced me to constantly be learning outside of the classroom to help me succeed.
Leadership Development: I am a member of the Mount Leadership Society here at OSU and I hope that assists me in becoming a better leader. I also have experience in student council and lead many other organizations in high school, all of which helped me grow as a leader.
Service Engagement: Service has always been very important to me and is one of the reasons I joined Mount, for their focus on service to the community. I hope to work on many more projects in the upcoming years to help as many people as I can.

Career

[“Career” is where you can collect information about your experiences and skills that will apply to your future career.  Like your resume, this is information that will evolve over time and should be continually updated.   For more information, go to: http://honors-scholars.osu.edu/e-portfolio. Not only does it represent my academic achievement, but it also represents my other achievements in high school. To earn this cord I  had to receive recommendations based off my achievements and successes in leadership, service, academic, and character. The cord represents everything from every piece of homework I did to every trip I made down to Atlanta for the National Academic Quiz Tournament national competition. Everything I did to earn this cord shaped my high school experience, and I plan to use the skills I’ve learned from these experience to continue to succeed here at The Ohio State University.
